My recent interview with Cougar Town star and comedic actress Busy Philipps has generated a lot of social media PR buzz for both, PR.com  and for Busy.

During my interview with Busy for PR.com on February 2, 2012, Busy Philipps discusses her love of Twitter as a means of controlling her own voice on the Internet and setting the record straight about her work and her life. During our chat I asked Busy who convinced her co-star Courteney Cox to finally join Twitter, and Busy told me it was her and Cougar Town‘s creator Bill Lawrence, along with Cougar Town fans who finally convinced Courteney to start Tweeting.

Peter Facinelli Interview with Allison Kugel

My Peter Facinelli interview is scheduled to post on PR.com Monday morning. In the interview with Peter we discussed how he almost passed up his breakthrough role in the Twilight saga (oops!), his quirky role in Showtime’s series Nurse Jackie and taking the leap of starting his own production company, Facinelli Films to star in and produce the indie film, Loosies.

A stuntman working on “Expendables” sequel has died and another stuntman seriously injured after an accident on Thursday, October 27, 201, in an explosion scene on the set of The Expendables 2. The Expendables sequel is set to hit theaters in August 2012. The star studded Expendables 2 movie is being filmed in Bulgaria starring Silvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lungren, Jet Li, and Jean Claude Van Damme. The all-star cast was not present when the accident occurred. They were in the middle of filming another scene at a mountain resort in the village of Bansko, two and a half hours away. The stuntmen were performing a stunt involving an explosion on an inflatable boat around 7p.m. local time, in front of the capital on Ognyanovo dam. One stuntman died on the scene the other rushed to the hospital to which he reportedly had undergone a five hour operation. He was said to be unconscious and in stable condition after the operation. No information was given yet as to the identities of the stuntmen involved in the incident.

The production company, Nu Image/Millennium Films, is being investigated by local authorities and is said to be fully cooperating and working closely with the police.

The producers of The Expendables 2 released this statement saying, “It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy.” No word on whether or not they are slowing film production down due to the accident.

Reps for Silvester Stallone were unavailable for comment.

Expendables 2 is not the 1st set to suffer an accident resulting in death. But will it be hard for you to watch The Expendables 2 knowing that one of those deaths was real? Have you watched, The Crow? Did you feel awkward while watching it and knowing that the film’s star, Brandon Lee, died from a tragic accident in which a gun with dummy cartridges was used in a scene where Lee was shot and passed after a six hour procedure to remove the bullet?

How about Batman Dark Night? Heath Ledger did not passed while filming but even after his death they decided to leave his scenes in the movie. Was that hunting? I would have to say yes. When did our whole mindset change that would cause us to want to see a movie more when people die.

May the stuntman rest in peace and our hearts go out to his family.

Bringing scents to the Arab World

Newlywed E! television reality star-fashion entrepreneur-perfumer, Kim Kardashian, headed to the Middle East on Wednesday, with her momager, Kris Jenner in tow. The Kardashian mom and daughter power duo landed in United Arab Emirates by private plane, where they were escorted through the airport to their lavish hotel accomodations at Atlantis The Palm Hotel in Dubai.

Kim couldn’t contain her newfound love for the Middle Eastern city, exclaiming via her Twitter page, “Just touched down in Dubai! I’m so happy to be here!”

Kim Kardashian then went on to tweet, “Wow I’m in such awe over Dubai! My hotel is so insane, can’t wait to do some blogs & show u guys! Too much to tweet! I’m obsessed with Dubai!”

Aside from making an appearance at the official launch of the first Millions of Milkshakes store to open outside of the U.S., Kim Kardashian is in Dubai to launch her signature fragrance at the Sephora store in a Dubai Mall.

Kim’s first trip to the Middle East was first class all the way. Aside from top notch security detail and a luxurious hote suite, Kardashian arrived into the city of Dubai in high style, noting that she had flown into Dubai on the “best plane” she had ever been on.

The inexhaustible reality star turned mega-mogul doesn’t slow down for a minute, even telling Arabian Business that she was looking into other business ventures in the region that would possibly include “a Kardashian hotel or night club in Dubai if the opportunity was right.”

It’s official. Ms. Britney Spears has conquered the world once again, first with her international Femme Fatale tour, and now on Twitter. The pop princess boasts more than 10 million Twitter followers, with an exact following of 10,132,860!

Britney Spears now joins the ranks of an elite single digit Twitter club of other celebs who have reached 10 million Twitter followers, including: Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, President Barack Obama, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian.

According to MTV News, Spears has put in work to become a Twitter mega-star, regularly tweeting back to her fans, posting a lot of personal status updates, and trying to return the favor by following 419,481 people on Twitter.

Though her tweets are mainly about her Femme Fatale concert tour that presently has her traveling throughout northwest Europe, and thanking fans and friends for their continued support, Britney has done an effective job of engaging her audience through various social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook.

Ms. Spears wants her Twitter followers to know that she is eternally grateful to them for helping her to meet this untouchable Twitter milestone. The pop diva tweeted to her followers:

“OOOMMMGGG I just realized that I hit 10 MILLION FOLLOWERS! Words can’t even begin to express the love I feel for all of u!!!

“I gotta do something special for u guys! Let me think of something fab to show my appreciation!!!!”

Apple co-founder and technology visionary, Steve Jobs, died Wednesday, October 5th, at the age of 56, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Jobs is survived by his wife, Laurene, and their four children.

In 2004, Steve Jobs had disclosed to his employees that he had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his pancreas, though he continued to forge ahead. The past seven years were some of the most prolific of Jobs’ professional life, with Apple introducing the iPhone and iPad to the market.

In August, Jobs had turned over his role as CEO of Apple to current Apple CEO, Tim Cook, and Cook officially took the reigns at a press conference this past Tuesday when he announced the newest iPhone 4S to the media.

Apple put out an official statement about Steve Jobs’ death, stating, “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

Throughout the duration of Steve Jobs’ illness, Apple investors and associates were left largely in the dark about the specifics of Jobs’ health condition. As Reuters states, “In past years, even board members have confided to friends their concern that Jobs, in his quest for privacy, wasn’t being forthcoming enough with directors about the true condition of his health.”

Though current Apple, Inc. CEO Tim Cook is proving to be a competent force in the Apple organization, there will never be another creative and visionary force quite like Steve Jobs, whose iPhone, iPod and iPad have made an indelible mark on how we experience music, search for information and communicate with one another.

In describing Steve Jobs’ appeal, Wikipedia quotes that “[Jobs']aim to develop products that are both functional and elegant earned him a devoted following.”

New Holiday Gadgats from Apple

Prepare to be wowed by the iPhone 4S!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4th, will be an official coming out party for Apple’s newly christened CEO, Tim Cook, as well as an array of new and exciting Apple products coming our way for the holiday season.

As Fox News states, “The most anticipated product is the new iPhone. Rumor has it that the phone will be called the iPhone 4S, not iPhone 5.” Although the “official name” of this new generation of iPhone is still up for speculation until tomorrow’s Apple press conference, which will be held at 10 AM PST.

According to reports, some new goodies that will be offered with this new Apple iPhone 45 will be faster software and hardware, and a new speech-to-text technology, making drunk-texting even that much more of a mindfield, but I digress…

The new iPhone is also speculated to feature a slimmer profile, faster wireless Internet, and a better camera with great HD capabilities.

In fact, predictions have it that this new uber-iPhone will be such a hot seller for both Apple junkies and civilians alike, that its only real holiday gifting competition in the tech market for the iPhone will be it’s first cousin, the Apple iPad.
