Would You Watch Bethenny Frankel’s New Talk Show?

It looks like Bethenny Frankel, the break out star of Bravo’s The Real Housewives franchise currently has her own talk show in the works, according to a story in The Hollywood Reporter. In the THR article, Bethenny Frankel is quoted as stating, ” “I want to be on TV in a format where I can have a longer conversation with my fans rather than 140 characters on Twitter. It probably will be a talk show.”

Popwatch asks, “Could Bethenny be the next Oprah?” Uh, slow down… Bethenny Frankel’s supposed talk show is still in the pilot stages, and I am thinking more of a girl’s chatfest than a “change your life TV” kind of a show. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think it has the makings of a runaway success. Bethenny has a contagious and adorable personality. Her candor is disarming and her approach is blunt and straightforward. In short, Bethenny Frankel is extremely likeable, and even those who don’t like her seem to enjoy watching her so they can talk about how much they “don’t like her.”

Ok, so I will NEVER get people like that. Do you? Haters who love to watch someone just so they can hate? WTF is that all about? Can someone please clue me in?

According to the Bethenny Frankel talk show chatter, “Telepictures talk show host and producer Ellen DeGeneres is involved with the project.”

As Senior Editor of PR.com I worked with Bethenny Frankel several years back, shortly before she landed on The Real Housewives of New York gig. Bethenny’s publicist at the time approached me about doing something with Bethenny for PR.com, explaining that she was a natural food chef for celebrities like Mariska Hargitay (I’m a huge Law & Order SVU fan), Paris Hilton and many others. I suggested some articles in which Bethenny could give our readers advice for healthy eating based on her celebrity clients’ custom diet plans. Bethenny, who was at the time an alum of The Apprentice with Martha Stewart and who was calling herself a celebrity natural food chef, wrote two articles for me for PR.com:

Bethenny’s first article for PR.com was entitled,
“My Famous Clients’ Diet and Exercise Routines Can Also Work for You,” which we published in August of 2007. Her second article for PR.com was entitled, “Healthy Holiday Helper: How to be Festive and Fit.” Both articles did well for PR.com, traffic-wise, and two summers ago my husband and I attended Bethenny’s launch party for her SkinnyGirl Margarita where I got to chat with her, and she certainly was a skinnygirl! Her waist was like that of a teenager’s (this was shortly before Bethenny was pregnant) and her bod was slammin!

I recently heard that Bethenny came forward and admitted to some eating issues in her past, which is perhaps how she developed her interest in creating healthy, low calorie foods and drinks.

All in all, Bethenny Frankel has emerged as an addictive character and I personally hope this talk show hits the air in the coming year.
