Brad Pitt to Quit Acting in Three Years “When I’m 50″
November 14, 2011 1 CommentBrad Pitt is feeling like it’s time to call it a day as a movie star. Pitt told Australian news program, 60 Minutes, that in three years when he turns the big 5-0, he plans to retire from acting. 60 Minutes prompted the comment from Pitt when the Australian television show’s reporter asked how much longer Brad Pitt would like to continue acting, to which the star replied, “three years.”
When asked what Pitt’s plans would be going forward, Pitt replied, “Hell if I know!” Brad Pitt did go on to explain that he thoroughly enjoys the producing side of filmmaking and he has gained great fulfillment in using his undeniable showbiz clout to help bring stories to the big screen that would otherwise have not gotten made into films. Pitt commented to Australia’s 60 Minutes, “Getting stories to the plate that might have had a tougher times otherwise,” is something he is proud of, professionally speaking.
Perhaps Brad Pitt’s urge to step behind the scenes at age 50 has something to do with how doggedly the actor and his partner of almost seven years, Angelina Jolie, have been pursued by the tabloid media since getting together, back in 2005. Pitt might just be weary of living in such a fishbowl for the past seven years. The comments about ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, which landed Pitt in a lot of hot water last month, certainly didn’t improve his taste for the continued glare of the media spotlight.
Another more important project that Pitt and Jolie would like to focus on, possibly expanding their already large brood of kids. Brad Pitt commented, “You know, I don’t know that we’re finished,” when asked about how many children he and Angelina Jolie plan to have.
