Bristol Palin Slams Meghan McCain & Cindy McCain in New Book: “Not Afraid of Life”
June 24, 2011 1 CommentBristol Palin is claiming in her new book, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, that Meghan McCain was less than thrilled to have Sarah Palin and her large brood of kids on board for her father, John McCain’s, 2008 presidential campaign.
In her soon-to-be-released book (Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far), Bristol Palin writes, “Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining. Oh the complaining.”
About Cindy McCain, Bristol Palin writes, “I’d never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup.” Bristol Palin then added that the would-be first lady Cindy McCain and wife of Senator John McCain, looked “like a queen [and held] herself like royalty.”
One really juicy tidbit that I must admit does seem a bit odd and contrived; Cindy McCain, according to Bristol Palin, expressed interest in being her son Tripp’s Godmother even though the eldest Palin daughter and Cindy Mccain had only recently met when Sarah Palin was brought on board the McCain presidential ticket as the vice presidential nominee.
Was Cindy McCain’s gesture a public relations move or a sincere interest in Bristol Palin’s then unborn child? Either way, it struck Bristol Palin as strange. Bristol writes in her book, “I had just met her and I wondered why she wanted any type of guardianship over my child.” I must admit, I would be thinking the same thing; “who are you lady, and why do you want potential guardianship of my baby?”
Apparantly, Meghan McCain has taken some humbrage to Bristol’s comments about her family written in Bristol Palin’s new memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far. The McCain daughter and popular blogger feels that Bristol Palin’s book is an unnecessary attack on her family. Instead of fighting fire with fire, Meghan McCain has chosen to post a video of herself backstage on the 2008 presidential campaign trail, where she is seen to be taking Bristol Palin’s younger sister, Willow, under her wing, and happily so.
Check out this video that Meghan McCain posted featuring some backstage moments with the Palins along the 2008 presidential campaign trail. Do you think the McCains and the Palins were one big happy family, or was it all for show?
