Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce from Kris Humphries After Just 72 Days of Marriage

After weeks of rumors and speculation E! News has confirmed that Kim Kardashian has decided to file for divorce from Kris Humphries, her husband of only 72 days! Kim Kardashian has cited “irreconcilable differences” on her divorce petition.

As E! News puts it, “Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Divorcing! Unfortunately, Kim Kardashian’s fairy-tale romance has come to an abrupt end. The E! reality star is planning to file for divorce from Kris Humphries this morning, a little over two months after she and the basketballer wed in a wedding fit for a princess, E! News has confirmed.”

I guess dropping $10 million big ones on a lavish party doesn’t guarantee happiness, nor does declaring your nuptials “a fairytale wedding.”

As for the E! Network, they say in an official statement, “All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news, and we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time. The Kardashians have always been uniquely open with all aspects of their lives from joyous events to intimate moments to heartbreaking transitions. E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family.”

Here is Kim Kardashian’s official statement regarding her split from Kris Humphries:

“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

As for Kris Humphries, he didn’t actually know his wife had filed a petition for divorce until the rest of us did. Kris Humphries put out his own statement, saying, “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.” Humphries has supposedly told friends that he does not believe in divorce.
