Lindsay Lohan Violates Her Probation, Heads Back to Court For Judge’s Ruling
October 20, 2011 No CommentsTroubled actress Lindsay Lohan, 25, has spent the last few years making the majority of her public appearances in a Los Angeles courtroom instead of on the big screen, and that sad trend doesn’t seem to be waning any time soon. The reason? Lohan’s absence from, and alleged disregard for, the community service that she was obligated by the court to fulfill as part of her probation agreement.
On Wednesday, October 20, 2011, a Los Angeles, CA judge revoked Lindsay Lohan’s probation do to Lohan failing to complete her community service sentence at a women’s shelter. Lindsay Lohan will find out on November 2, 2011 if she will be sentenced to jail (AP News).
According to ABC news, “Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner hammered Lohan during a tense proceeding [on] Wednesday and urged her to complete a minimum of 16 hours of her community service at the county morgue before her next scheduled hearing November 2nd.”
When Judge Sautner brought down her most recent community service ruling, we’re betting Lindsay wished she had stuck to working with a women’s shelter; now it’s off to the morgue for Miss Lohan, but maybe this little field trip is just what she needs to get scared straight. Though we’re not holding our breath!
In a lame defense argued by Lindsay Lohan’s defense attorney, Shawn Holley, Holley told the judge, “We’re dealing with someone on probation. Most people on probation don’t always do things perfectly.”
Ah, yeah, most people do follow their probation perfectly, that is if they don’t want to go to jail.
After Judge Sautner officially revoked Lindsay Lohan’s probation, Lohan was forced to do the courthouse perp walk as she was led away in handcuffs. According to Lohan’s spokesperson, Steve Honig, “[Lindsay Lohan] was released a short time later from Airport Courthouse after $100,000 bail was posted.”
At Lohan’s final ruling on November 2, 2011, Judge Sautner will decide if Lohan will serve any more time in the Los Angeles county jail.
Judge Sautner actually lamented during Wednesday’s court hearing, “If jail meant something in the state of California now, maybe I’d put her in jail.” Sautner was referring to the overcrowding in the California jail system that has led to early release for Lohan on previous occasions.
