Rihanna Unveils Chris Brown Lookalike In We Found Love Music Video
October 20, 2011 No CommentsThere has been a lot of buzz going on around the internet about Rihanna’s recent release of her music video, “We Found Love,” produced by Calvin Harris. In the music video, Rihanna, 23, is seen in an abusive drug-fueled relationship with a man played by her new boyfriend, British model Dudley O’Shaughnessy. Rihanna and O’Shaughnessy apparently started dating after Rihanna hand-picked him to star in the video for “We Found Love.”
People are talking about how Rihanna’s co-star looks a lot like her ex, Chris Brown. There is even a scene where they are fighting in a parked car, and although no punches were thrown in the music video, it still seems to resemble the police report that Rihanna filed back in February of 2009 where Brown was accused of punching Rihanna in the face after a nasty argument.
This video is very intense. It starts with Melina Matsoukas narrating the beginning of the story, “I saw you screaming when no-one can hear. You always feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it’s over, it’s gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you can have the good.”
It shows the troubled couple’s ups and downs and it turns for the worst. But in the end, Rihanna walks away from the situation with bags packed.
Rihanna Tweeted about the music video for “We Found Love, stating, “This is probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. It’s all about love and love being like a drug. The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this video is about.”
However you look at the video, you can’t help but have a strong opinion about whether it’s a negative or a positive message. She certainly got people talking!
