Jessica and Cash welcome baby # 2

Jessica Alba, 30, and husband, film producer, Cash Warren, 32, welcomed a baby girl, Saturday evening, August 13, 2011. This is the second child for Jessica Alba and her husband. The couples’ first daughter, Honor,now 3, was born in 2008.

The couples’ second daughter, Haven Garner Warren, weighed in at 7 pounds, and 19 inches in length according to the Los Angeles Times and AP.

The Spy Kids: 4D actress and her husband released the following statement:

“Healthy and happy! Big Sister Honor couldn’t be more excited about the new addition to our family.” Jessica Alba also posted on her Facebook page, “Hi Everyone, Hope you’re enjoying the weekend. Cash and I are so excited to announce the birth of our daughter, Haven Garner Warren!”

Alba signed off with gratitude to her fans, stating, “Thank you for all of your support during my pregnancy. It means the world to me,” which she simultaneously posted to her Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Jessica Alba is having a banner week with the birth of little Haven and the opening of her movie, Spy Kids 4 , this Friday, August 19, 2011.

Whew! What a relief. It’s not just me . Jessica Alba admits to Allure Magazine that although, for all intents and purposes, she is still smokin’ hot, her body is not exactly as perfect as it was before she gave birth to her first child, Honor.

Alba tell’s the August issue of Allure Magazine in a candid interview, “I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor.”

Jessica Alba goes on to divulge, “My body’s just different. The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It’s a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward.” Alba then adds, “Unless you’re Gisele.” Somehow Gisele became the post-baby body gold standard that all women seem to measure themselves against. But I digress…

Ok, here’s the thing, I can totally relate to every word that Jessica Alba uttered during this Allure Magazine interview. I was a size 2-4 before giving birth to my son and somehow every pair of jeans in my closet zipped up effortlessly and to perfection. Post-baby, I am a size 4-6 and half of the jeans in my closet don’t seem to want to zip up. They just won’t cooperate. Here’s where it gets weird, and I am sure that Ms. Alba would wholeheartedly corroborate my story:

When you look at yourself in the mirror, for the most part, you kind of look the same. The naked eye can’t detect too much of a change in your post-baby body, and it’s downright confusing because nothing fits. Obviously, some hips and ribs have shifted around in there causing your skinny jeans to collect dust in the back of your closet, but visually you just don’t see it. And yes, I too have noticed that no matter how great I look in the mirror, the number on the scale never seems to quite reach as low as it did before I gave birth to my son two years ago.

Ok, I just had to get all of that off my chest, and thankfully, my chest is still (almost) exactly where it was pre-baby.
Thank God for that at least!

So, Jessica Alba, I feel your pain, but hey, look what we get in return. Let’s see how Jessica Alba’s body bounces back after she gives birth to baby number 2! My guess is, she will still look gorgeous as ever even if she ends up having to give more of her skinny jeans to goodwill.
